It runs Pandoc — the de-facto standard document conversion engine — as WebAssembly inside your browser, so files are never uploaded to any server: safe for work documents and personal files alike. Content structure converts well (headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, bold/italic, links, images, footnotes), and images are embedded in the single .odt output so there's nothing extra to carry around. Because Pandoc converts through its document model, elements like text boxes, intricate layouts, exact fonts/spacing and tracked changes may be simplified. The engine (~56 MB) downloads once on your first conversion and is cached afterwards.
