FAQ

Is this tool free?

Yes — no sign-up, no installation, completely free to use right away.

What is this tool?

Online Paint is a lightweight, MS-Paint-style drawing tool. It gives you pen, eraser, line, rectangle and ellipse (outline or filled), a flood-fill bucket, text and an eyedropper, with a width slider, a 16-color palette, a native color picker and recent colors. Open files, drag-and-drop, or simply Ctrl+V a screenshot to annotate it (mobile has a paste button); canvases run from 800×600 to A4 plus custom sizes, on white or transparent backgrounds. Twenty steps of undo/redo, PNG (with transparency) and JPG export, and full touch drawing on mobile — everything stays in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

Are my uploaded files sent to a server?

No. Everything runs only on your own computer, inside your browser, and your files are never sent to a server or anywhere else. So you can use it with complete peace of mind, without worrying about your file contents leaking.

Where are my drawings saved?

Nothing is uploaded. Hitting save downloads a PNG or JPG file to your device. There is no auto-save, so keep your work with the save buttons.

Do I need to install or sign in?

No. Open the page and draw — it works on desktop, tablets and phones with full touch support.

Can I annotate a screenshot?

Yes. Copy a screenshot and press Ctrl+V — the canvas resizes to the image and you can mark it up with pen, shapes and text. On mobile, use the paste button in the toolbar.
