FAQ
Is this tool free?
Yes — it is completely free to use, with no account or sign-up required.
What is this tool?
A text-to-speech (TTS) tool that reads your text aloud. It uses your browser's built-in speech synthesis: paste your text, press ▶, and it speaks immediately. Choose from the voices installed on your device (different languages and genders), adjust the speed, pitch, and volume, and the word being spoken is highlighted as it reads. Everything runs on your device, so your text is never sent anywhere, and it's free with no install. Available voices and languages depend on your device and browser, and because it's a live playback tool, there's no option to save the audio as a file.
Are my uploaded files sent to a server?
No. Everything runs only on your own computer, inside your browser, and your files are never sent to a server or anywhere else. So you can use it with complete peace of mind, without worrying about your file contents leaking.
No sound / the voice list is empty.
It uses the text-to-speech voices installed on your browser/device. If the list is empty, add a voice in your system settings. Some mobile browsers only play sound after you tap the screen once.
Can I save the spoken audio as a file?
No. Browser speech synthesis only supports live playback, not exporting an audio file. Everything runs on your device and your text is never sent anywhere.
