孫堅
Sun Jian
Profile
The "Tiger of Jiangdong," founding father of Wu in all but name. Famous at seventeen for hunting down pirates, he fought harder than any lord against the Yellow Turbans and Dong Zhuo — his troops the first into Luoyang. An ambush arrow killed him at thirty-seven in the war against Liu Biao, but his fire passed to his sons Sun Ce and Sun Quan, the seed of the southern empire.

History vs. the novelHistoryvsNovel
The beheading of Hua Xiong, which the novel hands to Guan Yu, belongs to Sun Jian in the histories. The tale of hiding the Imperial Seal is likewise inflated — the historical Sun Jian was a loyalist of the Han to the end.
